Introspective Thoughts

Be Brave

It takes a lot of guts and courage, strong will power to be brave. In fact, I believe, there’s only one quality that a human being needs to survive, grow and prosper in this universe – Bravery.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the inspiring personalities, beautiful souls and genuine persons those whom I’ve ever met. How they have grown all these years, their journey, their achievements and accomplishments.

Dwelling upon the tales of those shining stars, I thought, “How did they do that? Accomplished so much in such short span of time… Does it require any special traits to achieve? Talent? Extraordinary? Confident? Strong? Were they born with it? Or did experiences taught them?”

After mulling over this topic for hours, I concluded that it takes only one quality to grow bigger and better in life – Bravery. Those people were brave enough to begin their journey and achieve.

There are so many aspirations and desires we all have. There are stuffs that we always wanted to do but never did. Dreams and aims that we have and want so badly. But they are buried deep inside our heart. Yelling and shouting to come out. A barrier always holds you back, keeping you from opening your heart and living your dream. The barrier stops you every time you take a step forward. The barrier – fear of failing, fear of making a mistake, fear of falling down and never getting up. The barrier is created by society, family, friends and even you.

The fear not only hurdles our path of dreams and aspirations, but also the fear act as an obstacle in so many other aspects of life. Every day the fear stops us from attaining our greater selves. The more we let the fear engulf us, the deeper hope, ambitions and dreams are buried. I have been fighting this fear for years from now. There are so many dreams that yearn to be reality. To be honest, I am the only one who created this barrier. This fight is more like – Anjali vs Anjali. Even when I started this blog, I had this fear, “Will my blog even get noticed? What if I am not a good enough writer?” This fear delayed my first post by a year. I am so glad I overcame that fear and started writing. The encouragement by my beloved ones gave me power to take up pen and paper and write.

That fear was conquered by one weapon – Bravery. All you have to do is – believe in yourself and your abilities. Be strong and let that bravery fill each and every part of you. So much so that there’s no place left for the fear. You know why, because you are blessed with so much abilities and powers, that are not yet discovered, to conquer the world. You have everything that is needed to be bigger, better and soon the best in life because you can and you will. The day you realize your caliber, be courageous enough to get up and start off, is the day you are a step closer to your destination.

So, be brave because you can live your dreams. Be brave because you can express your feelings. Be brave because YES! YOU ARE DESTINED TO BE BIG. Be brave because you are allowed to make mistakes. Be brave because you are a great orator. Be brave because you can start the venture and make it huge. Be brave because you can create a melody that can mesmerize anyone. Be brave because you can bring out the emotions on canvas. Be brave because you’re an amazing dancer. Be brave because you can go on a solo trip abroad. Be brave because you can bring a change.

Be brave because you are BRAVE.

There comes a time in one’s life when a storm takes over. The storm comes with bundles of detriment and distress. But how many of us survive it? How many of us get lost in the squall? Read on…

A fine sunny day

I decide to make way

A part of me says

“Where you are, stay put”

Shutting my eyes to the voice

I move ahead to explore

Discovering the horizons

Breaking the barriers

Looking up to the sky

I feel determined

“I’m a wanderer

And I’m not going to halt”

As I went ahead on journey

The day turned windy

Swirling dark clouds took up the sky

Sunbeams nowhere to be seen

Looking around, finding shelter

Suspecting a thunderstorm on way

“It was supposed to be fun..

Going to be damp instead”

Gusty waves grew stronger

Overpowering everything around

Including me, the voice cross my mind again

“May be the intuition was right”

Fears inside; struggles outside

Twigs, sticks and sand whirling

Each step heavier than last

The vision became blurry

I looked back, how it was

Before lies how it is

Torn between what I’ve left

And what I seek

“I’m a wanderer

And I’m not going to halt”

Recollecting what I want

And why am I here

It is not easy and

Never will be so

Giving up is not what I choose

The voyage has just began

“Going back is not an option”

Ahead I proceed, hell-bent on my desire

A fade light caught my eye

I rush towards the bizarre

All soaked and shivering

With the bruises and cuts

I take step after step

Getting closer to the ray

My body feels numb

Stumbled, the Earth my support

I looked around, where I’ve made

Serene calmed my nerves

The sky gained lost shine

Came the Sun, out of its hide

Reminded me of my relish

The storm I survived…

Introspective Thoughts

Yes! I’ve made mistakes

Mistake – an unintentional or sometimes intentional act which resulted in a not so desired consequence. Who hasn’t made a mistake? I make mistakes every now and then. Those mistakes are the result of learning, learning various aspects of life – friends, family, career, love, health and even about you. These mistakes often lead to guilt, dissatisfaction, anger and remorse.

“WHY DID I DO THIS? HOW COULD I DO THIS?” a person who has committed a mistake would ask oneself.

But, do those mistakes really tell what kind of person you are?  NO! They do not. A mistake will never ever define you as a person. No one is born perfect. Life does not come with a user manual. At every stage of life, you will face difficulties, dilemmas, clashes which will lead to mistakes. Unknowingly made mistakes; consciously made mistakes. Everyone makes one. The person who says otherwise is either lying or never came out of the shell he is living in. Therefore, you should never let a mistake get the better of you because you’re not alone in this. There are hundreds and thousands of human beings out there who have made a mistake similar to yours.

Then what defines you as a person?

The way you face and deal with your mistakes is what defines you as a person. Do you accept your mistakes and do the needful to correct them? Believe me when I say this, “You’re one brave person on this planet”. Owning up to the mistakes is not an easy task. Not everyone does it. But, yes, everyone is blessed with the option to do so. When you choose to accept and own up to your mistakes, the honesty sinks into you. You become more transparent and strong person. You will not fear anything and anyone.

I read somewhere some time ago which goes as, “You clean the mess you created by yourself”. Hurt someone’s feelings? Said things that you should not have said? Did something that troubled you and your loved ones? Did your act result in someone’s lose? Made a wrong career choice? Fell into a wrong company? Failed in love life? Accept the mistakes. Own up to those mistakes. Pluck up the courage to apologize. Make up with all those who were affected by your mistake. Take the corrective steps. Your one step towards correcting the mistake and all those problems and troubles will go miles away.

The mistakes so committed and the lessons learned from them will help you be the better version of yourself. Your life will be sorted which will create a healthy and positive environment. You will know yourself better. No complexity, just genuine simplicity. Be brave and strong to make a mistake and learn from the same.

So, keep making mistakes in life, as many as possible. Own up to those mistakes. Commit yourself to learn from mistakes and improve – becoming a better person every day.
