IMG_20160730_155631

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Petra Omoregie Caroline for nominating me. Thank you so much; the way you informed me about the nomination still brings a smile on my face.

Update: Also, I would like to thank Stories From My Diary and Zoe for nominating as well. They had nominated me after I did this post. Since, there is nothing additional or different required to be done, like in the case of Liebstar Award, I will link them to this previously done post. I hope you won’t mind, apologies.

Thank you so much for nominating me. It really means a lot. People do check out their blog. They are one of the most amazing bloggers I have come across in my blogging journey.

Story behind My Blog

My blogging story is not similar to those “born with the talent of having a way with words, inclination towards ink and quill and so I took up blogging.” To be honest, I had never thought about it. Growing up, only thing that I was passionate about was – let’s go to school and have fun, let’s go to park with friends and have fun, let’s roam around in the Naval Base and have fun, let’s have a mini picnic and have fun, let’s skate, play badminton, hide and seek and have fun. Having fun – was all I thought about while growing up. (In short, I was a carefree, nonchalant brat who didn’t have any idea about her future.)

It was in grade 9, when I, for the first time, read a novel. My sister bought it from Pune, where she had gone for Nationals. (That novel could have easily gained A certificate from CBFC, had it been a movie. My sister bought it for the sole reason that it had a nice, girlish cover.) I realized that I actually enjoy reading. I started reading more and more books. I didn’t take notice of it back then, but today I realize that, I ,naturally, had grown a fondness for writing and reading. While taking English exams, the essay questions were really enjoyed by me. In grade 10, I wrote my first poem – My Unhealthy Story. That was when I realized, that I also love writing. After that, I wrote various poems for my friends’ birthday and other occasions.

But, I didn’t have any serious thoughts about reading and writing. Back then, they were more of a hobby for me than passion.

Last year, when I was on my summer vacation, I asked one of my friends about what can I do this vacation so as to be productive. Among the many options, blogging was also suggested by her. At that time I shrugged off the idea thinking, “Blogging and me? Nahhhh!” But few days later, I came across WordPress and I thought about giving it a shot.

For many, many days, I was struck with the questions that were continuously hovering over my mind. “What would be my blog about? What should I name it? The tagline? The theme? And what about the header image?” I did get answer to all the questions, but it was already months since I made my account on WordPress. So, as a result, I wasn’t excited anymore about blogging. (All hail the Goddess of Procrastination and Laziness.) My college reopened, so the thought about blogging was further pushed away.

This New Year, I made a list of resolutions; blogging was one of them. Couple of months back, I ran into few issues with my closest friends. Issues that affected me so much… Let’s not talk about them. Anyways, whatever happened, that built-in me a strong urgency to write, to excel and to be the best version of me. Without any further delay, as soon as I was freed from my exams, I started a lot of research and googling for an appropriate name for my blog. After googling for days, I came up with the name Eloraquence, which is a portmanteau of the words – Aurora and Eloquence, which gives the meaning ‘a fluent writing to influence a new beginning in one’s life’.

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, that after creating the blog, for 15 continuous days, my blog was empty. What happened with my previous blog, same was happening with this one. On 15th day, few more things happen which brought a sudden thrill in me to write. That was the day; I published my first post Yes! I’ve made mistakes. Since then, this phoenix has been on the journey of exploring and inspiring. (Sounds like my tagline, isn’t it? Changed on 31 July, 2016)

I have always been a helping hand. I enjoyed helping out others. It gives me immense satisfaction and happiness. So, that is why the central idea of my blog is to inspire and subsidiary idea is to spread happiness by my highly failed humor. (Please, for once, say that this *puppy face phoenix* made you laugh… Or smile?)

Advice for Other Bloggers

I have already stupefied you all with my story. (See, what I did there? You noticed, right? That Harry Potter spell?? No? Ok. Bye. Goes in the corner of the room and yells “Why there aren’t enough Harry Potter fans in this world!!!!”) So, I am not going to give any long and in-depth analysed advice. My only advice would be that, enjoy blogging, get engaged with other bloggers (you do want to get noticed, don’t you?) and be real with your writings. Your writings should reflect the real you; that way you will connect with your readers better.

So, that’s all from your loving, beautiful, inspiring, mesmerizing, humorous, self -proclaimed writer, doodle artist, photographer, lazy, nonchalant, procrastinator, narcissistic Phoenix. I hope you all had/will have/are having an amazing day (depending upon which part of the world you reside).

P.S. – Those who don’t know, CBCF is the board which gives a certificate to a film based on its content. ‘A’ certificate indicates that the movie contains adult scenes, not fit for human beings less than 18 years of age. Yep! I read that kind of novel, unintentionally, at the age of 14. And, also, I won’t able to link the nominees in this post as the whole post took more time than usual and I have other priorities screaming for my attention. So, I will be commenting on your blog posts about the nomination, soon. I hope you all will not mind. Thank you!! You are a really generous person. Love ya!

  1. My father was in Indian Navy. So, during my childhood, I had traveled a lot in south. Naval Base is the area specifically meant for residence of the families of the Naval Personnel.

  3. Hello Anjali, I think this is at least third time that I am reading this award post. I am not very good at commentning on other blogger’s posts, it always takes ma ages before I write something. I love this post and its funny how I always find something new in it. By the way I am huge fun of Harry Potter and all books and movies with magic in it. So you can imagine how much I like the magic of you Phoenix :-) Its good that someone motivated you to start writting (even if it maybe wasnt quite a happy event) and I hope you will get many positive kicks to write more and more. For me the starting point was when my friend published a book and I find out how easy its to publish, print a book these days. Courage was what I needed to start writting and I got it when I saw the book on shelves, no editor or huge company needed to do that. So keep writing my beloved Phoenix :-)

  4. You. Are. A. Truly. Generous. Person.
I really mean it. Even though it takes ages for you to write a comment, the comment is worth the time. Every time is see a notification that says a new comment from you, it gives me immense happiness to read your so lovely words.
Truthfully speaking, I’m so glad that you enjoy my this post so much that you find something or other new in it every time. Also, the way you call me Phoenix every now and then, it reminds me of the journey I’ve embarked on and the purpose why I took that journey, even though I might forget it in the melancholy of a situation.
However bad that situation was which stimulated me to write, that situation was worth every word that I receive now, to go through it.
I’m so glad you chose to write. Had you not, I couldn’t have found you and I wouldn’t have had so much positive energy built in me. Thank you so much, Caroline. Thank you so, so, so much. Keep smiling always and spreading the positive vibes!
